A Brick-and-Mortar Retailer Powers Up Cable Spots

In last week’s Media Monitors Cable Spot Ten report, GEICO was No. 1 once again, while a big QSR moved into the No. 2 spot.

However, it is the activity of a big-box retailer faced with competing not only against Macy’s but also Walmart, Amazon and online retailers, that is worth noting.

JCPenney finished the week ending Oct. 1 in third place, clearing 42,555 commercials.

It’s just the latest effort in recent months by the retailer, and a welcome sign that broadcast media remains important to JCPenney.

Also making an impact at cable TV this week is Domino’s, which rose to No. 7.
