This Friday, the Communications and Technology Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee plan to hold a hearing on broadcast media ownership.
One in a series of such hearings, lawmakers will discuss the state of today’s media marketplace, existing rules that limit joint ownership of broadcast and newspaper outlets, and barriers to entry for businesses owned by women and minorities.
Representatives from NAB, MMTC, the Newspaper Association of America, the National Hispanic Media Coalition, Digital Content Next and Common Cause are expected to testify.
