Mediabase, Media Monitors merging, Rich Meyer departing

Clear Channel’s Mediabase and Media Monitors services are merging.  President Rich Meyer is has left the company after 25 years, following an internal announcement that the data acquisition and operations of both companies will be merged. According to Premiere Radio Networks President Charlie Rahilly, RCS/Media Monitors CEO Philippe Generali will oversee data acquisition and all operations from his HQ in White Plains, NY.


From Rahilly’s internal memo: "I’m confident that this new structure will closely align what was formerly two separate divisions and enable us to provide the most robust airplay data available to the music industry, radio programmers and sales teams. We will continue to move forward to maintain our status as the best media monitoring service."

Said Philippe Generali, CEO – President of RCS/ Media Monitors/ MediaBase: "These are big shoes to fill. Rich Meyer invented music monitoring in the US and I want to pay tribute to this achievement. We will continue the tradition of innovation and top-of-the-shelf data analysis that made the reputation of MediaBase."
