Mediacom scores Spin Master

After a review, MediaCom has been awarded planning and buying from Spin Master Ltd., the Toronto-based toy company. The assignment includes strategic media planning, traditional media buying, and digital media planning and buying for Spin Master’s adult-targeted game titles in the U.S., beginning in fall 2011. Examples include their Air Hogs remote control toy line. The account will be handled out of MediaCom’s Burbank office, near Spin Master’s Los Angeles operation.


Spin Master is one of the leading consumer toy and children’s entertainment companies in the U.S. According to Kantar Media, Spin Master spends about $75 million annually on ads, but how much of that goes to for the adult-themed games is not known.

Spin also owns Spin Master Entertainment, which is focusing on the development of children’s TV programs and more. It is the co-producer of an animated TV series “Redakai: Conquer the Kairu” on Cartoon Network.
