Memories of New York radio’s golden era

A great montage of airchecks from New York radio stations in the 1950s and 60s has been making the Internet rounds. We’ve tracked it down so you can hear it right here on RBR.com.


We first heard about it from veteran broadcaster Burt Sherwood. It had been posted by Ted David, who sent us the MP3. He told us it had been assembled by Dennis Elsas formerly of WFUV-FM and WNEW-FM, who selected the audio clips from his own collection.
