A Los Angeles judge has ordered Viacom and CBS Chair Summer Redstone to undergo a mental exam.
It’s the latest twist in the continuing legal battle over the 92-year-old’s mental competence.
Redstone’s former companion, Manuela Herzer, filed suit in November describing Redstone as a “living ghost.”
Redstone’s attorneys call the suit baseless and are trying to get the legal action dismissed.
The medical examination is expected to occur in the next 10 days. A hearing on the motion to dismiss has been pushed to Feb. 29.
We reported recently new regulatory filings show Redstone now has a diminished role at Viacom and his executive compensation was cut 85% in 2015 to $2M, down from $13M in 2014.
