Meredith Beats The Street With Strong Quarter

In the words of Zacks Equity Research, it was an “outstanding” fiscal Q2 2017 for Meredith Corp.

Thanks to “strategic endeavors,” strong political advertising revenue at its television stations and “sturdy digital ad revenue” in both its national and local businesses, Meredith saw non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.30. That compares to EPS of 80 cents in the year-ago period, and easily beat Zacks’ analyst consensus EPS estimate of $1.21 for the just-completed quarter.

Beating the street has become Meredith’s thing, Zacks points out.
