Westwood One’s Metro Traffic has a new multi-year agreement with Citadel Broadcasting to begin providing services to two stations in Chicago and expand services to two LA stations. In Chicago, Metro now becomes the exclusive provider of traffic surveillance tools, on-air talent, and traffic content to WLS-AM and WLS-FM. Westwood One VP/Marketing & Communications Peter Sessa tells RBR-TVBR that Metro bested Clear Channel and Traffic.Com in the competition for the contracts.

In LA, Metro becomes the exclusive provider of these same services to Citadel’s KABC-AM and KLOS-FM, stations which are currently affiliates of Metro Traffic’s news services. The deal also includes the integration of Sigalert, Metro’s online traffic service, to enhance the user experience of each station’s online traffic offering.

Metro Traffic now provides traffic reporting and local news, sports and weather to more than 2,250 radio and TV stations.
