Television stations transitioning to DTV in Michigan will be getting a helping hand from no less than the National Guard. The Michigan chapter will be assisting citizens learn how to get their digital-to-analog converter boxes hooked up. “In times of emergency, the Michigan National Guard and other emergency management organizations use radio and television to disseminate important information to the public,” explained MAB President Karole White. “It is vital that every individual in Michigan continues to receive their local television signals after the February 17, 2009 transition to digital and the analog turn off to ensure that they receive this emergency information.”
