Back To School Push Heads To Radio

School starts today in Hawai’i and in one week in locales ranging from Los Angeles to West Palm Beach.

It’s therefore no surprise that two big department store brands chose to increase their advertising activity last week.

What’s also no surprise to radio’s leaders is that these efforts include radio.

As shown below in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Radio report, Macy’s and JCPenney are back in a big way thanks to efforts designed to lure in back to school shoppers.

Macy’s places fifth; JCpenney is eighth.

Meanwhile, GEICO and The Home Depot continue to duke it out for year-end top honors as radio’s No. 1 advertiser.
