A Department Store’s Pre-Valentine’s Spot Surge

With Valentine’s Day coming this Thursday, two brands turned to radio in a big way to broadcast the message that turning to them may be a great way to please your honey.


One brand was a major national jeweler. The other? One of the biggest department stores in the U.S.

As shown below, Macy’s was a big user of spot radio for the week ending 10 February, according to the latest Media Monitors Spot 10 Radio report.

At the same time, Jared is back with radio spots — just in time for February 14.

Their efforts, however, paled in comparison to that of the undisputed leader of spot radio advertising: GEICO.
