A Big Pharmacy Brand Struts its Stuff at Spot Radio

The latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Radio report is out, and while there’s little in the way of movement from last week, there is one big new brand present on the latest list. It’s Walgreens, and that’s a good sign for the ad category.

The pharmacy world, like auto insurance, is a highly competitive one, with Walgreens and CVS/Pharmacy huge rivals. There’s also Rite Aid, far behind in No. 4 behind Walmart.

Yet, Walgreens stands alone with Spot Radio activity — at least for the week ending April 10, when it appeared at No. 8 by play count (inclusive of iHeartRadio promotional efforts).

With 31,405 spot plays, it puts Walgreens ahead of Grainger and just below QSR Dairy Queen, which is promoting its hamburgers formerly tied to the phased-out Brazier brand name.

The big No. 1 once again? Indeed, it’s Indeed, the job-seeker online hub that helped in making Monster.com no longer relevant in the employment finder’s world.
