Auto Insurance Brands Kill It At Cable

If there was any doubt that the auto insurance category wasn’t a big one for spot cable, think again.

The latest Spot Ten Cable report from Media Monitors confirms it is a huge category, with the top advertiser across all media the only brand to see more than 40,000 plays at the cable networks tracked by the iHeart-owned media detection service.

At No. 1 on the list again this week: GEICO.

The prolific insurer is the lone brand with more than 40,000 plays for the week ending 22 April 2018, and actually broke the 45,000 mark.

At No. 2 is Progressive, with 38,814 spots. State Farm is fifth, with 35,802 spots aired.

Liberty Mutual Insurance grew from 10th to ninth with 27,352 spots, while Allstate inched up to No. 7, with 30,427 spots.

What’s the other action on this week’s report? QSRs Burger King and Taco Bell like spot cable.
