MMTC to FCC: Create An EAS ‘DH’ System


WASHINGTON, D.C. — When it comes to emergency alerts in multiple languages, establishing a “Designated Hitter” system could prove to be “an important step toward ensuring that every person in America receives life-saving information during an emergency.”

That’s what MMTC President/CEO Robert Branson said in a five-page letter submitted Thursday to the FCC in reference to two dockets pertaining to multilingual emergency communications.
