Monday belongs to ABC w/ reality 'The Bachelorette'

With The Bachelorette and Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, ABC led it nearest competition on Monday night by 1.2 million viewers (CBS) and by 16% among Adults 18-49 (NBC with the Stanley Cup Finals Game 6). 


Continuing its winning streaks on the evening, ABC registered as Monday’s most-watched television net for the 14th week in a row and ranked #1 in Adults 18-49 for the 10th consecutive week.  The is delivering its longest Total Viewer winning streak on the evening in nearly 14 years – since a streak that ran from w/o 9/1/97 – w/o 12/22/97. 

At 8pm, ABC’s The Bachelorette won its time slot for the 4th week running, topping its closest competitors in the 2-hour time period by 47% in Total Viewers (CBS) and by 26% in Adults 18-49 (NBC).  

Building its numbers from its first to second hour, from 9-10pm ABC’s The Bachelorette defeated Fox’s Master Chef by wide margins in viewers (+3.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+20%).

Monday’s #1 TV show in viewers and young adults, ABC’s The Bachelorette registered as the Monday’s most-watched show overall for the 3rd week running. 

Up against the final hour of NBC’s Stanley Cup coverage, ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition ranked #1 10 o’clock hour for the 3rd week in a row across all key Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). 

The new ABC unscripted series continued to exhibit strong retention lead-in among Adults 18-34 (89%) and Adults 18-49 (83%), while building on The Bachelorette with key Men (M18-34/M18-49). 

Gaining audience throughout its broadcast, EM: Weight Loss increased by 5% in viewers and by 11% in young adults from its first half-hour to its second half-hour

ABC’s EM: Weight Loss continued to improve its hour year to year, up by 9% in Total Viewers and by 5% in Adults 18-49 over original programming on the year-ago night.
