Wall Street traders began Monday euphoric over China’s weekend decision to let its currency appreciate against the US dollar, which would make US products more competitive price-wise. However, the rally faded as traders returned to worrying about the economic outlook for the US and Europe. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, which had been up over 140 points early on, ended the session down eight points, or 0.1%, at 10,442. Broadcasting stocks were also lower.
The RBR Radio Index was down 13.296, or 3.5%, at 363.064.
The TVBR Television Index was down 0.167, or 0.1%, at 207.164.
