A veteran radio sales executive with roles at Capitol Broadcasting and Entercom has just taken the reins as SVP/Sales for iHeartMedia‘s group of stations in the Triangle region of North Carolina.

As of June 1, that role now belongs to Mike Morgan. He is now responsible for market revenue growth for iHeartMedia Raleigh’s broadcast, digital and live entertainment products and will lead a team of account executives in business development and account service. He reports to iHeartMedia/Raleigh Market President Alan Kirshbom.

“Mike is the total package,” Kirshbom said. “He brings extensive radio experience, subject matter expertise in digital and a stellar track record of serving and developing business in key categories. With Mike joining the Raleigh team, we are stronger than ever.”

Dave Carwile, President of iHeartMedia’s Virginia/Carolina Region, has been working closely with Mike for the past two years — he previously served as Director of New Business Development and Account Manager at ad agency Sokal Media Group.

“Mike is a born leader with a proven track record of growing teams, developing culture and exceeding client expectations,” Carwile said. “I know firsthand his passion for helping clients grow their business. Mike is the ideal candidate for leading our Raleigh sales team.”

From October 2007-August 2009, Morgan was GM for Capitol Broadcasting in Raleigh-Durham. From 2003-2007, he held the title of Director/Sales for Entercom’s Greenville, S.C., stations.

From 1998-1999 he served as an AE for WBT-AM in Charlotte. He began his career at WROV-FM in Roanoke, Va.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the dynamic team at iHeartMedia in Raleigh,” said Morgan, who was also Head Coach of Duke University’s Rugby Team from September 2012-February 2018. “I’m looking forward to working with our fantastic sales staff to bring Raleigh businesses industry leading advertising solutions via the power of our radio, digital and experiential platforms.”
