Seven years after taking the role of LSM at a pair of Fresno TV stations, Matthew Morse has been promoted to the top position at the Sinclair Broadcast Group duo.

Rising from GSM, a role he gained in October 2014, Morse will now have top responsibilities for FOX affiliate KMPH-26 and KFRE-59, the CW Network affiliate serving Fresno.

He reports to Rob Weisbord, President of Sinclair’s Local News & Marketing Services division. Weisbord called out Morse’s 20 years of broadcast sales experience across California and expressed confidence “that his deep roots in Fresno, history with the company and strong background in sales and marketing will make an extremely
capable leader.”

Morse said he was “honored and humbled to continue my career with such a progressive company as Sinclair. What makes this even more rewarding is that I get to do this job in my hometown. Growing up, KMPH/KFRE was an integral part of my life and it is my
pleasure to lead these stations into the next decade.”

Before joining the stations in January 2013, Morse was an AE at KGPE-47 in Fresno, a CBS affiliate. From 2005-2007, he served as LSM of FOX affiliate KPTV-12 in Portland, Ore. Prior to that, he spent a year as LSM of KEYT-3 in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he attended UCSB and received a law degree, in 1997.
