The sudden stop to the second stage of the FCC’s Forward Auction on Wednesday came as no surprise to Stephan Sloan, a Providence-based broker for Media Services Group.
“We were not shocked by this outcome,” he tells RBR + TVBR.
But, Sloan warns not to call the surprising halt to the forward auction’s second stage a flop.
Rather, this is a welcomed move that will accelerate the process needed to bridge the gap between wireless communications companies and TV broadcasters who were over-promised a financial windfall by none other than FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler himself.
