MSNBC upgrades relationship with Meghan McCain

Cable news channel MSNBC has had Meghan McCain — the daughter of senator and former presidential candidate John McCain – on its frequent guest list. Now it is making it official and making her a contributor.

She has already appeared on the network in her new capacity, debuting at noon ET on “NOW with Alex Wagner.”
“I couldn’t more be excited to be joining the MSNBC family,” said McCain. “It’s a unique opportunity to share my perspective as a Republican on a network I respect and have built a relationship with over the past two years.”

Many political offspring avoid the limelight, but Meghan McCain has certainly not been one of them. She has written books, blogs for “The Daily Beast” and is a frequently heard voice on political topics. She takes a Republican view of things, but has not been shy voicing criticism of her own party.

MSNBC joins sister programmer NBC Television Network in stockpiling famous political daughters. It recently hired Chelsea Clinton in a journalistic capacity.
