Multiply, the world’s fifth largest independent social networking site, announced partnerships with ABS-CBN, a Philippine-based global media conglomerate, and Lifetime Television’s morning talk show, "The Balancing Act." The partnerships will increase Multiply’s reach across a number of leading consumer channels, exposing the social networking site’s best-of-breed technology and media sharing services with new audiences, while Multiply enables communication with and feedback from audiences in an interactive, social setting.
ABS-CBN has bought a $5 million minority stake in Multiply, with the option to invest an additional $4 million in marketing services through the partnership over the next two years.
Through the partnership with Lifetime Television’s morning show "The Balancing Act," Multiply will host the program’s official community site, which will be promoted on the air during each show, and is available at thebalancingact.multiply.com. The new online community will enable viewers to have discussions with the show’s Producers around program segments, share their own stories, and enter sweepstakes to win prizes.
Multiply gives people the ability to share their personal media – including photos, videos, blogs and other content – strictly within their personal network, which includes direct contacts and those connected to the user through real-life relationships.
