mun2: #1 Hispanic cable net in first week of May

mun2, the leading bicultural cable network, was the #1 Hispanic cable network for the first week in May across all key demos in prime time Monday-Sunday, 8-11p.m, according to Nielsen. The network out-delivered all Hispanic cable networks – including Galavision and Discovery en Español – for the week of April 30 with 139,000 total viewers up +28%, 83,000 adults 18-49 up +28%, and 53,000 YLA (Young Latino Americans, 18-34) up +33% compared to prior week. On Wednesday, May 2 the network had its best Wednesday night prime time average (Monday-Sunday, 7-11p.m.) among YLA since 2010, with 119,000 YLA viewers, fueled by WWE Raw, up +135% vs. prior week, and La Reina del Sur, up +53% vs. prior week.


Heading into its Upfront, mun2 remains on track to have its best season ever, with the network averaging 91,000 total persons for a +15% increase, 53,000 adults 18-49 for a +13% increase and 35,000 YLA for a +13% increase over last season.

Program Highlights:

La Reina del Sur (Wednesday, 10p.m.) delivered an average of 232,000 total viewers, and 150,000 adults 18-49, an increase of +24% compared to prior week. La Reina del Sur captured its third highest delivery premiere to-date among YLAs with 116,000 average for an increase of +53% compared to the prior week in the same time period.

WWE Raw (Wednesday, 8p.m.) delivered 374,000 total viewers, and had its largest audience delivery in adults 18-49 since 2008 averaging 199,000, an increase of +91% compared to prior week during the same time period. Raw also brought in its fourth largest delivery out of all WWE shows ever aired on mun2 with 148,000 YLA average, increasing by triple-digits +135% compared to the prior week’s average.

Premios Billboard 2012 (Sunday, 8p.m.) repeat delivered an average of 110,000 total viewers and 68,000 adults 18-49. The show increased by +21% compared to the prior week’s delivery during the same time period. Premios Billboard also aired during Thursday night (7p.m.) and brought in 30,000 YLA for an increase of +3% vs. the prior week’s average.

I Love Jenni (Monday, 8pm) delivered an average of 56,000 total viewers, and 51,000 adults 18-49, an increase of +183% compared to prior week. I Love Jenni also delivered 40,000 YLAs, a +167% jump over prior week in the same period. The show continues to be the most watched reality program on Hispanic cable.
