Long-time Pittsburgh Steelers radio color commentator Myron Cope has died of respiratory failure at age 79. Among other things, Cope was known as the creator of the “Terrible Towel” still waived enthusiastically by Steelers fans. Cope retired in 2005 (6/22/05 RBR #122) after 35 years on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ radio network.
