NAB Digital Platform Arrives As Permanent Vegas Extension

With the 2021 NAB Show planned for April 10-14, the National Association of Broadcasters will soon bring to life what it’s calling “a dynamic year-round digital platform designed to extend the impact of NAB Show” via networking and educational opportunities.

Coming November 20 is NAB Amplify, which the association also believes can serve as a platform “to fuel commerce” beyond the NAB’s live events.

Former Creative Planet Network Creative Director Cristina Clapp will serve as NAB Amplify’s content director.

To be clear, NAB Amplify is not a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the cancellation of the 2020 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The association says it’s been in development since 2019.

The platform, the NAB says, will feature targeted networking forums, regularly updated educational content, and an extensive online marketplace showcasing diverse media and technology companies ranging from leading global brands to up-and-coming start-ups.

“NAB Amplify is a key component in NAB’s larger innovation strategy aimed at super-serving our global audience,” said NAB President Gordon Smith. “This evolution will serve to enhance our well-established live events, while expanding the NAB Show brand into a year-round service and experience driven by meaningful connections and community engagement.”
