National Association of Broadcasters EVP Dennis Wharton took to the pages of the New York Times, responding to an article about internet use during inaugural events. “When it matters most,” he wrote, “broadcast television remains the single most dependable visual medium in America. While Internet users experienced glitches and spotty online coverage of the inauguration, TV broadcast coverage was live, clear and reliable.” IN short, the internet is great, but it still has a lot of catching up to do with television in a number of important areas.
