Leaders from the NAB sent a letter Thursday to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, praising the company for its inclusion of an FM broadcast radio receiver in the next generation of the iPod nano. The letter was signed by NAB Joint Board Chairman Steve Newberry, NAB Radio Board Chairman Charles Warfield, Acting NAB President and CEO Janet McGregor and NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David.

The new functionality will “give radio listeners and iPod users the seamless ability to discover music on free and local stations and to purchase songs they enjoy through Apple iTunes,” the letter reads. “The reciprocal benefits are far-reaching and extend beyond our respective businesses, benefiting American consumers, musicians and record labels as well.”
