NABOB Members to Pitch Ad Agencies

NABOBThe National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters and advertising agency Mediavest will host a forum this Friday, Feb. 26 for station owners to meet with media planners and buyers from New York area ad agencies.

NABOB President Jim Winston says the forum grew out of the NABOB fall conference and Power of Urban Radio forum. During an ad agency panel, Mediavest CEO Brian Terkelsen committed to having a meeting in New York to introduce minority-owned broadcasters to potential advertising opportunities.

Terkelsen worked with Herman Kizart of Kizart Media Partners to develop the Feb. 26 conference, which consists of meetings between members of NABOB, Mediavest and the 4As. “Speed dating sessions” will give individual stations a chance to pitch themselves to the agencies.

Winston says NABOB will give a presentation on the NABOB Network, giving small stations a chance to be represented, even if they can’t come to New York.

The forum, called “Uniting Our Communities & Advancing Our Industry” is 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the New York Times Building on 8th Avenue, between 40th and 41st streets. For more information, go to eat: www.nabob.org/
