So far this week, Melissa Lawson, a 32-year-old mother of five boys from Arlington, TX, has been crowned the winner of “Nashville Star” on NBC and had her first single released to Country radio stations. Now she’s off to Beijing to perform live from the Summer Olympics on August 12 in a telecast on NBC’s "Today." Lawson and the top three runners up will begin a nationwide tour later this year. “Nashville Star” aired on NBC this year after five seasons on USA Network.
