How Wall Street Sees ‘The New Era Of Consumption’ For TV

MIAMI BEACH — As a strong breeze whipped poolside tents hosted by such TV entities as digital multicast network Cozi TV under blue skies alongside aqua-colored surf, a packed room full of television industry executives and producers were given a wake-up jolt today that perhaps the strong Cuban cafecito couldn’t muster.


The digital media revolution has begun, and cable TV is in trouble. Broadcast TV should be wary. As Wall Street sees it, we’ve only started what could be the most transformational — and disruptive — period in video entertainment history.

With that, NATPE Miami began in earnest, following a wind-whipped drizzle-filled welcome party Monday evening featuring a short performance by 1990s-era Miami-born entertainer Jon Secada.
