Looking for best practices on how to ensure that your AM radio station’s transmitters are properly maintained?

You may want to pen in May 16 on your calendar, as Nautel will hold a webinar to discuss maintenance, troubleshooting, grounding and lightning protection, among other top topics.

Nautel is introducing a new series of webinars, and the first one is set for Noon Eastern on Wednesday, May 16—part of a “Tips n Tricks” theme.

The session bears the title “Care and Feeding of AM Transmitter Sites,” and is hosted by Nautel’s Jeff Welton.

Welton plans to include “surprise guests” who will present stories of situations encountered at different facilities and how the situations were addressed.

The webinar will run 45 minutes with time for questions following the formal presentation.

Welton returns on Wednesday, May 23, for a second session focused on FM Transmitter Sites. This session covers maintenance, troubleshooting, grounding, cooling, air handling and site security.

A third session, on Wednesday, June 13, will see guests John Poray, SBE, and Wayne Pecena of Texas A&M University participate in the webinar “Broadcast Engineers and Technology: Training and Recruitment.”

The discussion will focus on the scarcity of trained broadcast engineers in both the U.S. and abroad, the effects of the increased pace of technological change, and the sources and strategies for training and recruiting to the Radio broadcast industry.
