NBC begins the new season with an on-air f-bomb

The season premier of “Saturday Night Live” demonstrated that the show is indeed live. An f-bomb was dropped by new cast member Jenny Slate in a sketch with Kristen Wiig.

The sketch, “Biker Chick Chat,” had the two repeatedly using the word “frickin” in place of the word that real biker chicks would use – at least we assume they would. But about a minute into the bit, Slate substituted the real word for frickin.

Although the on-air expletive violated NBC standards and practices, Saturday Night Live airs well within the indecency safe harbor period, so no FCC action is possible. NBC re-dubbed the line so Slate said “frickin” when the show aired in the western time zones.
