Peacock pulled the plug 4/22 on Paul Reiser after only two episodes (4/14 and 4/21). Why? the “Mad About You” star’s return to television debuted to only 3.3 million viewers and a 1.1 rtg. in the 18-49 demo. The show, a midseason replacement for the network, took another 18% drop in ratings its second week. It averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall.

Accroding to The Wrap, starting this week the network plans to air repeats of “The Office” in Reiser’s 8:30 p.m. time slot on Thursdays. No decision has been made on when or if the remaining episodes of the series will air.

The semi-autobiographical sitcom had Reiser starring as a former television star who hasn’t worked on a series in several years. While he has enjoyed spending quality time with his family during this break, he feels he needs something more. Deciding to shake up his life a bit, Reiser enlists his friends to help him find the next “big thing” to occupy his time.
