NBC combo 'America's Got Talent' 'The Voice' win Tuesday

From 8-9 p.m. ET, “America’s Got Talent” (3.7/12 in 18-49, 12.9 million viewers overall) finished within 0.1 of a point or 3 percent of last week’s premiere rating in the 8-9 p.m. hour (3.7 vs. 3.8) and within 6 percent in total viewers (12.932 million vs. 13.714 million from 8-9 p.m.). 


“America’s Got Talent” won its time period last night among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in all key ratings categories.

From its first half-hour to its second, “America’s Got Talent” grew by 24 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.1 from a 3.3) and by 21 percent or more than 2.4 million persons in total viewers (14.2 million vs. 11.7 million). 

Versus NBC’s average in this time period last summer, “America’s Got Talent” was up 147 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 3.7 rating vs. a 1.5, “live plus same day,” non-sports) and up 149 percent in total viewers (12.932 million vs. 5.198 million).

From 9-11 p.m. ET, “The Voice” (4.6/12 in 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall) topped the 18-49 rating of every non-sports telecast of last summer on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW except the “Glee” finale (4.7 on June 8, 2010). 

Last night’s telecast of “The Voice” is the #1 non-sports choice in the time period in every key ratings category and is #1 outright among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in all key adult-female demos. 

Versus NBC’s average in this time period last summer, “The Voice” is up 53 percent in 18-49 rating (4.6 vs. 3.0, “live plus same day,” non-sports), despite strong competition last night from ABC’s coverage of the NBA Finals.

NBC is #1 for the night in total viewers, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics on an evening that included competition from ABC’s coverage of Game 4 of the NBA Finals (pending updates).
