NBCSunday Results: From 9-11 p.m. ET, the season premiere of “The Biggest Loser”


(2.9/7 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) scored gains versus its

year-ago premiere of 21 percent in 18-49 rating  (with a 2.9 vs. a 2.4

on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 from 8-10 p.m.) and 6 percent in total

viewers (6.968 million vs. 6.589 million).  This is the show’s highest

18-49 rating since the “Biggest Loser: Couples” season finale on

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 (3.1/8 from 8-10 p.m.).  “Biggest Loser” won the

9-11 p.m. time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 25-54 and

women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

*           Excluding sports and Golden Globes, this is NBC’s highest 18-49

rating in the slot since May 22, 2011.

*           For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., “Biggest Loser” beat the

original ABC and CBS competition in all key demos, winning the 10 p.m.

hour in 18-49 by a margin of 43 percent (3.0 vs. 2.1 for CBS’s

second-place “Mentalist”).

*           From 7-9 p.m. ET, the Sunday season debut of “Dateline NBC”

(1.5/4 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) jumped versus last

year’s debut by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.2 from

7-9 p.m. on January 8, 2012).  This is the top “Dateline” Sunday

rating in 18-49 since February 12, 2012 (1.6 from 7-9 p.m.) and

biggest overall viewership for a Sunday “Dateline” since March 18,

2012 (6.1 million).

*           From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline NBC” grew by

100 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 0.9) and by 40 percent in

total viewers (6.4 million vs. 4.6 million).
