NBC Everywhere announced the expansion of its digital out-of-home network, adding fitness centers and colleges to its growing portfolio. The group has entered into strategic advertising and content partnerships with IdeaCast and The University Network (TUN), and will now reach consumers at 900 gyms and 181 college campuses nationwide.
As part of the agreement with IdeaCast, NBC Everywhere has formed [email protected], an in-house network reaching a targeted audience of over 13 million gym members each month. Visitors of IdeaCast gyms, which include some of the largest and most well-recognized fitness centers in the country, can exercise while watching programming from MSNBC and CNBC on large screens strategically located within the gyms’ cardio areas. Ad sales will be a joint-effort between IdeaCast and NBC Everywhere. Clients will have the opportunity to advertise within the programming and can also take part in sponsored vignettes, such as work-out tips, which will air during programming breaks.
NBC Everywhere will also launch NBC on Campus, through a partnership with The University Network (TUN), a campus based network reaching more than six million 18-24 year-olds each week at 181 universities across the country. With 283 screens installed in high traffic campus locations, such as student unions and dining halls, the network features NBC programming tailored specifically for the college audience.
