NBC high point Thursday 'The Office'

At 8 p.m. ET, “Community” delivered a 1.4/5 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall.  In a highly competitive time period that included Fox’s “American Idol,” ABC’s “Wipeout” and CBS’s rebroadcast of “Big Bang Theory” and CW’s “Vampire Diaries,” “Community” ranked #2 among those networks in adults, men and women 18-34 behind only “Idol.”


At 8:30 p.m. ET, “The Paul Reiser Show” averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall, retaining 95 percent of its total-viewer lead-in in a highly competitive time period that included Fox’s “American Idol,” ABC’s “Wipeout,” “Community,” CBS’s encore of “Rules of Engagement” and CW’s “Vampire Diaries.” 

In total viewers, this is NBC’s top retention of an original “Community” lead-in in this time period since December 9.  In adults 25-54, the lead-in retention for last night’s “Paul Reiser” was 87 percent (with a 1.3 rating vs. a 1.5).

From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.9/10 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall) is the #1 scripted series of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW, with the top “Office” results in 18-49 and total-viewer since January 27. 

Versus its prior original on March 24, “The Office” grew last night by 15 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.9 from a 3.4) and by 9 percent in total viewers (7.691 million vs. 7.072 million). 

“The Office” is tied for #1 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 with Fox’s “Bones” (pending updates), which benefited from a big lead-in from “American Idol.”   “The Office” is #1 outright in the half-hour in adults, men and women 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.

From 9:31-10 p.m. ET, “Parks and Recreation” (2.6/7 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) generated its top 18-49 and total-viewer results since January 27 (pending updates).  Versus its prior original on March 24, “Parks and Rec” grew last night by 8 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.6 from a 2.4). 

Last night’s “Parks and Rec” currently ranks #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and most other key demos and is #1 in adults 18-34 and men 18-34. 

From 10-10:31 p.m. ET, “30 Rock” (2.2/6 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) scored its top 18-49 and total-viewer results since February 24.  “30 Rock” won the half-hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and other key demos airing against encores of CBS’s “Mentalist” and ABC’s “Private Practice.”  

Versus its prior original on March 24, “30 Rock” grew last night by 16 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 1.9). 

 From 10:31-11 p.m. ET, “Outsourced” (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) dialed up its highest 18-49 rating since February 10.  In the challenging 10:30 half-hour, “Outsourced retained 77 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from “30 Rock.”  “Outsourced” is #1 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults, men and women 18-34 and men 18-49.
