NBC Monday’s ‘Heroes’ and ‘Trauma’ report good demos

At 8 p.m. ET, “Heroes” is currently averaging a 2.5 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall in a time period that includes Fox’s “House,” CBS’s encore comedies and ABC’s “Grinch” and “Shrek” Christmas specials. 


“Heroes” is up week to week by 9 percent in 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.3) and 14 percent in total viewers (5.9 million vs. 5.2 million).  “Heroes” is currently reporting its top 18-49 rating since November 2 and biggest overall audience since September 21.  In the time slot, “Heroes” is #2 or tied for #2 among the major networks in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos, pending updates.  “Heroes” is one of the most time-shifted shows on television, adding 30% to its 18-49 rating so far this season when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to “live plus seven day” figures. 

At 9 p.m. ET, “Trauma” is currently delivering a 1.8/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall.  Pending updates, “Trauma” is up week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.7) and 9 percent in total viewers (5.9 million vs. 5.4 million).  “Trauma” is currently matching its highest 18-49 rating since November 2 and delivering its biggest overall audience since September 28.

From 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” is currently averaging a 1.3/3 in adults 18-49, a 1.5/4 in adults 25-54 and 4.7 million viewers overall.  The time-period competition included CBS’s “CSI: Miami” rebroadcast and ABC’s “Castle” encore, plus a potent NFL matchup on ESPN, New England versus New Orleans.  Pending updates, “The Jay Leno Show” is delivering its biggest overall Monday audience in six weeks (since October 19).

Comparisons with Jay Leno’s 2008-09 averages at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” are: in adults 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.7 million vs. 5.1 million).  Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to Jay’s debut are: in adults 18-49 (1.3 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.7 million vs. 6.9 million).

In Late-Night Local People Meters Monday night:

Conan O’Brien (0.9/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) topped CBS’s LATE SHOW (0.8/3 with an encore) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.5/3 in 18-49 in local people meters with an encore) tied CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.5/3).
