NBC ratings results for Monday 11/2/09

Monday Results (note that NBC carried NFL football in the New Orleans market and CBS carried it in Atlanta):


At 8 p.m. ET, “Heroes” is currently averaging a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that includes Fox’s World Series coverage, CBS’s comedies and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”  In the time period, “Heroes” is the #1 non-sports telecast on the major networks in men 18-34.  “Heroes” is one of the most time-shifted shows on television, adding 32% to its 18-49 rating so far this season when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to “live plus seven day” figures.  In total viewers, HEROES adds 1.5 million viewers to the previously reported “live plus same day” results when “live plus seven” ratings are released. 

“Heroes” matached its top 18-49 rating since the show’s September 21 season premiere and earned its biggest total-viewer result since that same date. 

At 9 p.m. ET, “Trauma” is currently averaging a 1.9/5 in adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that includes Fox’s World Series coverage, CBS’s “Two and a Half Men” and “Big Bang Theory” and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”  Pending updates, “Trauma” is up week-to-week by 11 percent in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 1.9) and 8 percent in total viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.8 million).

“Trauma’s” matched it’s 18-49 and total-viewer results since the show’s September 28 series debut and delivered its biggest total-viewer results since that same daate.   

From 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” averaged a 1.2/3 in adults 18-49, a 1.4/4 in adults 25-54 and 3.9 million viewers overall.  Last night’s time-period competition included Fox’s World Series coverage, CBS’s “CSI: Miami” encore and ABC’s “Castle.”  From its first half-hour to its second, “The Jay Leno Show” increased its 18-49 rating by 18% (to a 1.3 from a 1.1).   

Comparisons with Jay Leno’s 2008-09 averages at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” are: in adults 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 5.1 million).  Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to Jay’s debut are: in adults 18-49 (1.3 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 6.9 million).

In Late-Night Local People Meters Monday night:

Conan O’Brien (0.8/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) trailed CBS’s LATE SHOW (0.9/4) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.5/3 in 18-49 in local people meters) finished behind CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.6/4). 

For the Week:

For the week, NBC averaged a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall. 

THE OFFICE is #7 for the week in adults 18-49 and THE BIGGEST LOSER is tied for #9 (excludes sports pre- and post-game shows). THE OFFICE is tied for the #1 non-sports rating of the week in adults 18-34 with GREY’S ANATOMY.
