NBC sees tough competition Monday

 At 8 p.m. ET, “Heroes” averaged a 2.2 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that includes Fox’s “House,” CBS’s comedies and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”  “Heroes” is one of the most time-shifted shows on television, adding 30% to its 18-49 rating so far this season when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to “live plus seven day” figures.  In total viewers, HEROES adds 1.4 million viewers to the previously reported “live plus same day” results when “live plus seven” ratings are released. 


At 9 p.m. ET, “Trauma” averaged a 1.8/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that includes CBS’s “Two and a Half Men” and “Big Bang Theory,” ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and Fox’s “Lie to Me.”

From 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” averaged a 1.4/4 in adults 18-49, a 1.6/4 in adults 25-54 and 4.5 million viewers overall.  The time-period competition included CBS’s “CSI: Miami” and ABC’s “Castle.” 

Versus the prior Monday, “The Jay Leno Show” is up 17% in 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.2), 14% in 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.4) and 10% in total viewers (4.5 million vs. 4.0 million).   

Comparisons with Jay Leno’s 2008-09 averages at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” are: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.5 million vs. 5.1 million).  Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to Jay’s debut are: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.5 million vs. 6.9 million).

In Late-Night Local People Meters Monday night:
Conan O’Brien (1.0/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) topped CBS’s LATE SHOW (0.9/4) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.5/3 in 18-49 in local people meters) tied CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.5/3). 

For the Week of November 9-15:
For the week, NBC averaged a 2.8/8 in 18-49 and 8.1 million viewers overall.  The 2.8 matches NBC’s season-high rating.
In adults 18-34, NBC is #2 for the week.
