NBC stalling at the gate, '30 Rock' is the high point

At 8 p.m. ET, “Community” averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall.  Despite intense time-period competition that included CBS’s “Big Bang Theory,” “Community” finished within 0.1 of a point of  NBC’s average in the slot for the traditional ’09-10 season (1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).  In the time period last night, “Community” ranked #2 among NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox in men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tie).


At 8:30 ET, “30 Rock” (2.1/7 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) built by 17 percent on its lead-in from “Community” and also generated an 11 percent increase on NBC’s slot average during the ’09-10 traditional season (1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).  The build on lead-in is a substantial jump versus NBC’s average in the slot last season, when the network was flat in this time period versus original lead-ins from “Community.”  In the time period last night, “30 Rock” ranked #2 in adults 18-34 among NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox and was #1 in men 18-34.
 
At 9 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.5/9 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 ahead of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” CBS’s “CSI” and Fox’s “Fringe” in all key adult-male demos — men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.  “The Office” matched its 18-49 rating for last May’s sweep (3.5) and was up 3 percent in total viewers (6.951 million vs. 6.771 million).

At 9:30 ET, “Outsourced” delivered a 2.5/7 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall.  In the time period, “Outsourced” ranks #1 ahead of the concluding half-hours of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” CBS’s “CSI” and Fox’s “Fringe” in men 18-34 and tied for #1 in men 18-49.
 
At 10 p.m. ET, “The Apprentice” averaged a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall.  From its first half-hour to its second, “The Apprentice” maintained its 18-49 rating and grew 9 percent in total viewers.  “The Apprentice” matched its rating of the prior week in adults 18-49 and is up 3 percent in total viewers week to week (3.714 million vs. 3.612 million).
