NBC ‘The Biggest Loser’ having tough season in 4th place

From 8-10 p.m., “The Biggest Loser: Couples” (3.0/8 in 18-49, 7.6) million viewers overall) grew week-to-week by 7 percent in 18-49 (3.0 vs. 2.8) and 2 percent in total viewers (7.6 million vs. 7.4 million).  


“Biggest Loser” ranked #2 in the time period in women 18-49 and women 18-34 against such competition as Fox’s two-hour “American Idol,” ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” results show and “Lost” and CBS’s “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” 

From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Biggest Loser” increased its 18-49 rating by 46 percent (to a 3.5 from a 2.4) and its overall viewership by 35 percent or nearly 2.3 million persons (8.8 million vs. 6.6 million).

At 10 p.m., “Parenthood” (2.6/7 in adults 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) won the time period in adults 18-49 over the original-drama competition of CBS’s “The Good Wife” and ABC’s “V.”  “Parenthood” was also #1 among the major networks in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49.  Week to week, “Parenthood” is up 4 percent in 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.5) and up 2 percent in total viewers (6.3 million vs. 6.2 million).
