NBC Thursday line-up, 'The Office' 'The Apprentice' third-place

At 8 p.m. ET, a special stop-motion animation holiday episode of “Community” is currently reporting a 2.0/6 in 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall, matching its highest 18-49 rating since October 28.  Pending updates “Community” is up 5 percent versus NBC’s average in the slot for the traditional ’09-10 season (2.0 vs. 1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).  In the time period, last night’s “Community” currently ranks #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 (tie) and #1 in men 18-34.


At 8:30 ET, “30 Rock” is currently averaging a 2.2/6 in 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall, for its top total-viewer result since November 4 (pending updates).  “30 Rock” is currently within 2 shares of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and is the #1 program among ABC, CBS, NBC and CW in adults, men and women 18-34 and men 18-49 (tie).
 
“30 Rock” is currently building by 10 percent on its lead-in from “Community” and generating a 16 percent increase on NBC’s slot average during the ’09-10 traditional season (1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”), pending updates.  The build on lead-in is a substantial jump versus NBC’s average in the slot last season, when the network was flat in this time period versus original lead-ins from “Community.”
 
From 9-10 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.8/10 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall, pending updates) is #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 ahead of CBS’s “CSI,” ABC’s Barbara Walters special on Oprah Winfrey and Fox’s “Fringe.”  “The Office” also currently leads the time period in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and all key adult-male demos. 

Pending updates, “The Office” is matching the show’s top 18-49 rating since October 28.  Versus its averages for last May’s sweep, “The Office” is currently up 9 percent in 18-49 rating (3.8 vs. 3.5) and 12 percent in total viewers (7.593 million vs. 6.771 million).  “The Office” is currently tied with CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” as the #1 broadcast of the night in adults 18-49 (pending updates).
 
At 10 p.m. ET, the season finale of “The Apprentice” (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) is reporting the show’s highest 18-49 rating of the season and biggest overall audience since its September 16 season debut, pending updates.  Versus the prior week, “The Apprentice” is currently up 29 percent in 18-49 rating (1.8 vs. 1.4), pending updates. 
 
This season, “The Apprentice” has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to the show’s “live plus seven day” figures.  On a percentage basis, “The Apprentice” is the #2 biggest gainer going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven” among all unscripted shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.  In total viewers, “The Apprentice” is adding 23 percent when going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven day” Nielsens, the #1 biggest percentage increase for an unscripted show on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.
