NBC Thursday’s corner stone ‘The Office’ #2 in men 18-34 and 18-49

From 8-8:30 p.m. ET, “Community” (2.3/7 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since January 14 and is currently reporting its biggest overall audience since that same date.  Last night’s “Community” is up 35 percent versus NBC’s 18-49 average in the time period this season prior to the “Community” debut in the slot (2.3 vs. 1.7). 


“Community” is currently #2 among the major networks in the slot behind only CBS’s “Survivor” premiere in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-49, men 25-54 and women 18-34 and is #1 in men 18-34. 

From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, “Parks and Recreation” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) matched its season high in adults 18-49 and is currently at a season high in total viewers (pending updates).  “Parks” equaled its highest rating in 18-49 since the third episode of its opening season on April 23, 2009.  “Parks and Recreation” is currently retaining 100 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from “Community” and has now retained 95 percent or more of its 18-49 lead-in with 15 of 16 original telecasts so far this season.

Last night’s “Parks and Recreation” is currently #2 among the major networks in the slot behind only CBS’s “Survivor” premiere in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-49, men 25-54 and women 18-34 and is #1 in men 18-34.   

From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.7/10 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) is the #1 show in the highly competitive time period in adults 18-34 and men 18-34 ahead of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” CBS’s “Survivor” premiere and Fox’s “Past Life.”  “The Office” is #2 in the half-hour in women 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.  This is the top-scoring telecast of “The Office” in total viewers since December 10.

From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, “30 Rock” (2.9/7 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) is currently matching its top 18-49 rating since December 10 (pending updates) and is reporting its biggest total-viewer result since that same date.  “30 Rock” is currently #1 in the highly competitive time period among men 18-34 and #2 in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and men 18-49. 

At 10 p.m., an encore telecast of “The Office” averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall.  For the half-hour, “The Office” was #2 among the major networks in men 18-34 and men 18-49.

At 10:30, another rebroadcast of “The Office” delivered a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall.  For the half-hour, “The Office” was #2 among the major networks in men 18-34 and tied for #2 in men 18-49.

In Late-Night Local People Meters Wednesday night:

Conan O’Brien (0.8/3 in 18-49 in local people meters with an encore telecast) trailed

CBS’s first-run LATE SHOW (1.0/4) in Nielsen’s 25 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.4/3 in 18-49 in local people meters ) trailed CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.5/3).
