Ticked-off hockey fans are finally going to have Olympic hockey broadcast live in all time zones. NBC Universal will air Friday’s semi-final match between the US and Finland live on NBC in all time zones, which is 3:00 pm ET/noon PT. That follows complaints about Wednesday’s game, in which the US beat Switzerland on MSNBC, being tape delayed for the Mountain and Pacific time zones, although fans were able to watch the live stream on the NBC Olympics website.
The Gold Medal final will be Sunday afternoon on NBC. The Bronze Medal game (the loser of US-Finland vs. the loser of Canada-Slovakia) will be Saturday in primetime on CNBC.
Due to the length of hockey games, NBC avoids carrying live games in its primetime Olympic coverage. Instead, NBCU puts them on MSNBC or CNBC.
