NBC Tuesday good showing for 'Parenthood'

In total viewers, “Parenthood” grew 26 percent week to week.


From 8-10 p.m. ET, “The Biggest Loser 12” (2.4/6 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers) jumped 20 percent week to week in adults 18-49 to match its highest rating this season, despite intense time-period competition that included CBS’s “Rudolph” and “NCIS,” ABC’s “Last Man Standing,” “Man Up” and “The Middle” encore and Fox’s “Glee,” “New Girl” and “Raising Hope.” 

From its first half-hour to its fourth, “The Biggest Loser” increased by 18 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.6 from a 2.2).

In total viewers, “Biggest Loser” hit a season high, with a 27 percent increase week to week (7.072 million vs. 5.583 million).

At 10 p.m., “Parenthood” (2.2/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) grew versus its prior telecast by 16 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 1.9) to match its season high and earn the show’s top rating since November 1, despite competition in the hour from CBS’s “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” and ABC’s “Body of Proof.” 

In total viewers, “Parenthood” grew 26 percent week to week (5.743 million vs. 4.566 million) to attract its biggest overall audience since the show’s season premiere on September 13.  

Versus last year’s November averages, “Parenthood” is up 16 percent in 18-49 rating (2.2 vs. 1.9) and 21 percent in total viewers (5.743 million vs. 4.757 million).

Note that “Parenthood” has been adding 42 percent to these next-day “live plus same day” ratings when Nielsen issues “live plus seven day” results so far this season.
