NBC’s ‘30 Rock’ #2 in Thursday time slot

From 8-8:30 p.m. ET, “Community” (2.3/7 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) scored its top 18-49 rating since November 5. 


COMMUNITY is also currently matching its top 18-49 rating since it last aired at 9:30 on October 1.  In the time period, “Community” is currently #2 or tied for #2 among the major networks in most key demographics, including adults, men and women 18-34 and adults, men and women 18-49.  Last night’s “Community” is up 35% versus NBC’s 18-49 average in the time period this season prior to the “Community” debut in the slot (2.3 vs. 1.7). 

From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, “Parks and Recreation” (2.1/6 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since November 5.  “Parks” is tied for #2 in the time period in 18-49 and is #2 outright in men 18-49 and men 18-34 (pending updates).  “Parks and Recreation” is currently retaining 91% of its 18-49 lead-in from “Community” and has now retained 91 percent or more of its 18-49 lead-in with 13 of 13 original telecasts in this slot so far this season.

From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, a special 9 p.m. telecast of “30 Rock” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) is currently tied for #1 in men 18-34 in a highly competitive time period that includes CBS’s “CSI,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and Fox’s “Fringe.” 

From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, the regular edition of “30 Rock” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) is currently tied for #2 in the highly competitive time period among adults 18-34 and men 18-34. 

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” averaged of a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, a 1.6/6 in adults 25-54 and 4.4 million viewers overall.  Last night’s competition in the time slot included CBS’s “The Mentalist” and ABC’s “Private Practice.”

Comparisons with Jay Leno’s 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” are: in adults 18-49, 1.3 vs. 1.4; in adults 25-54, 1.6 vs. 1.8; and in total viewers, 4.4 million vs. 5.1 million.  Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to the “Jay Leno” debut are: in adults 18-49, 1.3 vs. 2.2; in adults 25-54, 1.6 vs. 2.7; and in total viewers, 4.4 million vs. 6.9 million.

In Late-Night Local People Meters Thursday night:

Conan O’Brien (1.9/8 in 18-49 in local people meters) out-rated CBS’s LATE SHOW (1.1/4) in Nielsen’s 25 local markets with People Meters.
At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.7/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) tied CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.7/4).
