NBC's 59th Annual 'Miss Universe Pageant' stood in third-place

From 9-11 p.m., “Miss Universe 2010” (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) scored NBC’s highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in this time period since May 31.  “Miss Universe 2010” finished within 10 percent of its year-ago Sunday rating in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 2.1) and is up versus last year in total viewers by 1 percent (6.043 million vs. 5.986 million). 


In the time period, “Miss Universe” ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in its time period in adults 18-49 (tie) and total viewers and was #1 among adults 18-34 and women 18-34 (tie).  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Miss Universe” increased its 18-49 rating by 47% (to a 2.2 from a 1.5) and overall viewership by 37% or 1.9 million persons (6.9 million vs. 5.0 million).

For its concluding hour from 10-11 p.m., “Miss Universe 2010” finished #1 among the broadcast networks in nearly every key ratings categories — adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults and women 25-54; and total viewers.

In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Miss Universe 2010” delivered a 13% margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (2.4 vs. 2.1 for CBS’s second-place CSI: MIAMI encore.  “Miss Universe” also won the half-hour in adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults and women 25-54; and total viewers.

From 8-9 p.m. ET, “Minute To Win It” (1.6 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) ticked off NBC’s highest 18-49 rating in the time period since June 7 and biggest overall audience in the slot since May 3 (pending updates).  In the time period, “Minute To Win It” is #2 among the major networks in total viewers and adults 18-34 (tie) and #1 among men 18-34.  From its first half-hour to its second, “Minute” grew by 21 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.4) and by 15 percent in total viewers (5.7 million vs. 5.0 million).
