NBC's 'America's Got Talent' No.1 in 8-9 pm time period

At 8 p.m.. ET, “Minute To Win It” (1.5/5 in adults 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) clocked NBC’s top results in this time period in both adults 18-49 and total viewers in eight weeks, since June 29, the night of “The Voice” finale. Week-to-week, “Minute” ticked off increases of 15 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.3) and 20 percent in total viewers (5.681 million vs. 4.721 million) pending updates.


From its first half-hour to its second, “Minute” increased in every key ratings category, including gains of 31 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.3) and 12 percent in total viewers (6.0 million vs. 5.4 million). “Minute To Win It” ranked #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49, total viewers and most key ratings measures.

At 9 p.m. ET, the “America’s Got Talent” Results Show (2.8/8 in 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall) grew week-to-week by 12 percent in adults 18-49 (2.8 vs. 2.5) and 10 percent in total viewers (10.728 million vs. 9.742 million) to deliver its top results in four weeks, pending updates.

“America’s Got Talent” ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in all key measures – adults, men and women 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34, adults, men and women 25-54 and total viewers as well as among teens 12-17 and kids 2-11, pending updates. In adults 18-49, the “Talent” advantage in the hour was 75 percent (2.8 vs. 1.6 for ABC’s combo of a “Modern Family” encore and “Happy Endings” in second place). In total viewers, “Talent'” more than doubled its closest competitor (10.7 million vs. 5.2 million for CBS’s “Criminal Minds” encore).  .

“Talent” was the #1 show of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in total viewers and is currently tied as the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 (with CBS’s “Big Brother,” also a 2.8 in 18-49 from 8-9 p.m.), pending updates.

Note that over each of the last five weeks, “America’s Got Talent” has increased by 0.1 of a rating point in 18-49 in official nationals versus these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings.

“America’s Got Talent” built on its lead-in by 87 percent in 18-49 rating and 89 percent in total viewers.

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (1.6/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and numerous other key measures.
