NBC's 'America's Got Talent' solid Tuesday win

From 9-11 p.m. ET, “America’s Got Talent” (4.0/11 in adults 18-49, 14.1 million viewers overall) scored the #1 results of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, plus adults 18-34 and 25-54 and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.  “Talent” is #1 in the highly competitive two-hour time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and CW in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54; women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54; and total viewers, and is #1 excluding sports in men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.


Versus last year’s 9-11 p.m. telecast against Baseball’s All-Star Game, “America’s Got Talent” is up 21 percent in 18-49 rating (4.0 vs. 3.3) and up 21 percent or 2.4 million persons in total viewers (14.071 million vs. 11.631 million).   Versus NBC’s average in this time period last summer, “America’s Got Talent” is up 33 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 4.0 rating vs. a 3.0, “live plus same day,” non-sports) and up 35 percent in total viewers (14.071 million vs. 10.423 million).

The 4.0 rating for “America’s Got Talent” tops the 18-49 rating of every non-sports telecast so far this summer on ABC, CBS, Fox or CW.
 
From 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “America’s Got Talent” averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 7.2 million viewers overall.  From its first half-hour to its second, “America’s Got Talent” grew in all key ratings categories, including a gain of 12 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.9 from a 1.7).  Versus NBC’s average in this time period last summer, “America’s Got Talent” is up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 1.8 rating vs. a 1.5, “live plus same day,” non-sports) and 39 percent in total viewers (7.241 million vs. 5.198 million).

The 8 p.m. “America’s Got Talent” encore earned the #1 non-sports rating in the hour in adults 18-49 and is #1 outright among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in all key adult-female demos, pending updates.

NBC is #1 for the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories.  It’s NBC’s fifth consecutive Tuesday win in 18-49 and seventh in a row in total viewers.
