NBC's Friday's strong with 'Dateline NBC'

At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “Minute To Win It” (1.2/4 in adults 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) finished within a tenth of a rating point of #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW.  Pending updates, “Minute” clocked NBC’s top total-viewer result in the hour since December 10. 


From 9-11 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” (1.5/5 in adults 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) reported its highest 18-49 rating for a Friday telecast since October 8.  In the time period, “Dateline” tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49.  From its first hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 38 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.3) and by 23 percent or 1.1 million persons in total viewers (to 6.0 million from 4.9 million).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., “Dateline NBC” ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 and other key categories.

In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Dateline NBC” delivered a 14 percent margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 2.4 rating vs. a 2.1 for CBS’s second-place “Mentalist” encore).  “Dateline” also led the 10:30 half-hour in all other key demographics — adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and men and women 25-54.
